Police: family dogs alerted owners to home burglary - abc27 WHTM

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

Family dogs woke up their owners and led them to the scene of a burglary -- their kitchen -- early Wednesday morning, Northern York County Regional Police said in a press release.

The homeowners entered their kitchen to find the plexiglass had been removed from their back window and a purse had been stolen. The burglary happened around 1:15 a.m. on the 4300 block of Lewisberry Road in Conewago Township.

The owners heard a car leaving the scene just after the dogs began barking.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 717-292-3647.
