According to a survey by the British Insurance Brokers? Association, 57 per cent of broker respondents (compared to 23 per cent last year), have seen consumers cut their levels of insurance protection during the economic downturn. This is supported by findings from ABTA?s Consumer Trends research that some 19 per cent of UK holidaymakers head aboard without any travel insurance cover in place.
