MOSCOW ? The 2013 Skoda Yeti Sochi, which honors the location of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, debuted at the 2012 Moscow Auto Show.
Sochi is the name of the Russian city hosting the winter games. It is the first time that the Russian Federation will host the Olympics.
The compact SUV has a candy-white paint job and special badges.
The special-edition Yeti gets unique alloy wheels and a 1.8-liter TSI engine that is mated to a six-speed DSG transmission. The turbocharged compact SUV will deliver 150 horsepower to all four wheels.
Volkswagen Group looks to expand Skoda's reach in Russia, and, by the year 2018, increase worldwide sales of the brand twofold to 1.5 million units per year. The company has already seen deliveries to Russian customers grow 41.5 percent during the first seven months of 2012.
The Czech automaker also confirmed its plans to launch a compact sedan model called the Skoda Rapid in Russia the following year.
